We recently had an interview with Andrew Duncun, CEO and Owner of Databuzz – FileMaker Integration Experts. Andrew managed to do the Beem SMS API integration successfully for one of his clients. Read more about the interview below.
What is fmSMS and Claris File Maker?
Claris is the leader in workplace innovation and is a subsidiary of Apple Inc.
The Claris Platform (https://www.claris.com/) helps you create apps that make your business better. Rapidly build apps you can’t find anywhere with advanced tech like cloud, mobile, and AI. Then connect them together with your other apps to automate workflows.
fmSMS (https://www.fmsms.com/) is a Claris FileMaker solution developed by Databuzz that lets you send and receive SMS messages from the Claris FileMaker Platform.
What is the relationship between Claris and fmSMS?
fmSMS is a software app that runs on the Claris FileMaker platform.
How did you learn about Beem?
We were contacted by a customer based in Tanzania that wanted to use fmSMS with the Beem SMS APIs.
Which BEEM API did you integrate for the customer?
We integrated fmSMS with both the Beem SMS API and the Beem Two Way SMS API.
How easy was it to integrate the Beem API with fmSMS?
Integrating with the Beem API was very straightforward. Within a few hours we were able to send messages using the Beem API from fmSMS.
What challenges did you face while doing the Beem SMS API integration?
No particular challenges – the API is well documented and uses industry standards like REST and JSON and code samples are provided.
What’s your recommendation to fellow developers in using the Beem SMS API?
If you’re looking to send SMS messages to customers in Africa then definitely check out the Beem API. If you’ve integrated with other APIs in the past you shouldn’t have any issues with the Beem API.
